TEA TREE OIL // Skincare Review
When it comes to spot treating a pimple I'm always on the look out for a quick fix, but then again who isn't ? I've gone through so many spot treatments -Mario Badescu and Skyn Iceland included. My pigmentation was my main issue as I always knew after my pesky pimple went away I would be stuck with a constant hyperpigmentation reminder for atleast 3 to 6 months minimum.
Tea tree oil has so many benefits. It is often used for cuts and abrasions, fungal infections, burns, insect bites, and what I use it for, acne. I have found after 5 years of trial and error that tea tree oil beats them all, and its natural. At night time I will spot treat my spots with this oil after my moisturiser and go to bed with it on. It's great for cystic blind pimples that lie deep under the skin and white heads that have are close to popping. I can be sure that with the help of tea tree oil that if I get a new pimple it will be gone ( and by gone I mean it doesn't hurt to the touch) within 2 or 3 days, and after that it's up to my derma roller to get rid of the evidence.
I've also found that this oil in comparison to other spot treatments seems to decrease my chances at scarring and being left with dark spots.
The tea tree oil I use is from Thursday Plantation from Priceline. It costs AUD $6.00 for a 15mL bottle which is cheaper than the Body Shop or other specialist stores.
If you have acne and you feel like you have tried just abiut everything, try this. And if it doesn't work for you then you can always just add it to yiur first aid kit as this little powerful oil is useful for so many other things.
