3CE MOOD RECIPE MINI LIP KIT // Make Up Review

This lip set from 3CE is in no means new, in fact it was released in Fall/Winter of 2016, but I had it gifted to me from my Mum during her travels in Thailand and fell in love with the shades and the warmth of the maple-rosey-brown hues. The kit comes with 5 mini lipsticks, and yeah they are definitely mini. With one lipstick all the way out it is probably the size of the first section of my pinky! But it is a great way to test out different shades while paying less. I think that these shades will suit any skin tone, especially the yellow and olive skin tones.

The packaging is nice and sleek, made of card and could easily be discarded after you take the lippies out. I can't be 100% sure how much this set costs, due to it being a gift, however I do believe is was around AUD$40 from a generic cosmetics store in Bangkok.

The shades claim to be ultra creamy, matte, long-lasting and non-drying, however I do have to disagree with some of those claims. I do agree that they are matte and long-lasting, but they are a tad drying. I would definitely recommend putting some chappy on before applying these lipsticks, just so it sits a bit more comfortably on the lips.

In my opinion, the light shades are a bit more patchy and need a bit more help getting on the lips. By this I mean that the darker shades are a lot more creamier than the lighter shades. Shades #114, #115, and #116 pull on the lips a little, where as #909 and #117 glide on very creamy and comfortably.

There are also very long-lasting. They survived hours on my lips, and faded off gracefully.

Guys, I really do like this adorable little kit! Although it is "last season" or more accurately "last year" whatever that means, it is still a good way to test out 3CE lip products and test  more shades for less money.
